Curriculum

Ok all you homeschooling moms, I have a question for you. What curriculum did you use this year? What did you like about it? What did you not like about it? Are you using it again, or changing to something different? Are you even thinking about it yet?

Personally, I use only the Bible. For those of you who use other curricula...you should learn from me. It is the final authority on all subjects!!!

P.S. Could you possibly change the song? I've heard 'Just Another Day In Paradise' about a million times since October 23. Just a thought, though...

Amen Jenn. Us homeschoolers take Scripture seriously! What better way to read, write and add than Scripture? Numbers is great for arithmetic, Romans is great for spelling, like "propitiation", and Leviticus is great for biology with all those sacrifices!

Well I guess your not going to get much help here, but I will say that I have done Saxon with both my kiddos for 6 years now and I have enjoyed it and it seems to work for them, although we are looking into other things with Taylor going into Middle school next year. I liked the Bible program that we are doing (Same as you I believe) it gets even better with the higher levels. I will keep you updated with other programs as I check them out:)

Hey Jaime...
We used My Father's World - First Grade. I have really liked it this year - Caleb has really grown in reading and I love that his reader is all Bible stories. I think I am going to use it again next year - not a final decision, but that is how I am leaning. I have also done Right Start Math this year. Because of sickness and a few other things, we have gotten behind. I like it - most days - but it is a lot of work for me. I will probably stick with it for now - I am trusting the other HS moms that have used it and highly recommend it. So...that is our plan for now! Hope that helps!

For Hope next year I will continue to use Tapestry of Grace for my history, literature and other assorted things. I really love it and so do my children. I use Right Start Math and also am very happy with that. She will continue with A Reason for Handwriting and possibly the Pathway Readers, but we may be done with "Reading/Phonics" She gets whatever Science Matthew gets and we may or may not start Easy Grammar. That's about it for her.
